Harriet Beecher Stowe were born in Litchfield Connecticut, June 14th, 1811, and died on July 1st, 1896. During her years of living she was an abolitionist. She lived with her family until she was married. She also had seven children their names were Eliza and Isabella (which were twins) Samuel, Henry, Charles, and the last 2 girls had the same name which was Georgiana. At that she even taught at a girl’s school. Harriet wrote a book about the reality of slavery and how she wants for it to stop in the United States. A famous quote that was always said my Harriet was”Whipping and abuse are like laudanum, you have double the dose as the sensibilities decline”. Harriet even has her own organization that’s called “Harriet Beecher Stowe Society. It dedicates to the study of Harriet Beecher. Harriet Beecher Stowe is very significant to most people but not a lot, but she is because she stood up for what was right so therefore she’s now being appreciated. I think that anybody would be very proud of her actions and because instead of her being with this kind of cruelty against colored people she was against it Also she didn’t care on what the whites said to her for her being against slavery, all she cared for was getting the respect for this type of behavior.
